OUR STORY John Van Dyk has been in the utility hire business since 1989. Throughout these years he has built a vast reserve of experience and contacts in the vehicle hire business with over 30 hire agencies being established in the Sydney metropolitan area.In July 2001 John came to know Simon in a trip into Arnhem Land. In transit, a stop was made at the famous Mataranka Springs just out of Katherine in the outback. There in the thermal pools the idea was germinated that Simon should set up Able Utes Victoria ... the rest is history. As of July 2005 Simon took over the Sydney operation from John. Sadly, on Sunday December 18, 2005, John passed away. Despite this loss, Able Utes will continue to trade and expand as John's legacy lives on. Whilst John's reputation is a tough act to follow, a wonderful foundation has been laid that will continue to inspire and be built upon.
